Google Workspace reseller: what it is and what it does

A Google Workspace reseller is an authorized partner that sells licenses, bills the customer and usually handles first-line support. The software is identical to what Google sells directly. What changes is who invoices you, who answers the phone when a mailbox breaks, and what extras come bundled in. Some resellers offer discounts on annual plans, though terms vary a lot.

Some businesses go through a reseller from day one. Others start with Google directly and move later.

Google reseller program requirements

The Google Workspace reseller program is open to companies that sign a partner agreement, pass a short onboarding and commit to supporting their customers. Most partners begin as referral or resale partners. Higher tiers bring better margins, but they also require certified staff and a steady volume of active seats, often counted in the hundreds.

Google reseller portal and reseller console

Partners manage their customers from a dedicated reseller console, which is separate from the Admin Console your own team uses. It lets the partner create customer accounts, add or remove seats, switch plans and see renewal dates. A customer never logs into it.

If you search for the portal because you want to manage your own users, you need the Admin Console instead. Your reseller can still see billing and license counts, but your admins keep control of mailboxes, groups and security settings.

G Suite reseller pricing in 2026

The old G Suite name is gone, but people still search for it. Indicative list prices for Google Workspace start at about $7 per user per month for Business Starter on an annual commitment. Business Standard sits around $14 and Business Plus around $22. Enterprise plans are quoted individually.

  • Business Starter: about 30 GB of storage per user
  • Business Standard: about 2 TB per user
  • Business Plus: about 5 TB per user, with Vault included

A reseller may price below these figures, or add services such as migration help and local-language support. Compare the total yearly cost, not only the seat price.

How to change your Google Workspace reseller

Switching is allowed and does not delete your data. A super admin generates a transfer token in the Admin Console and passes it to the new reseller, who completes the transfer. Allow a few days for the whole process.

Before you start, check the renewal date. Moving mid-term can mean paying for overlapping licenses. Also confirm that your domain and admin access are in your own hands, because that makes the move far easier.

More questions about Google Workspace resellers

Is it cheaper to buy Google Workspace through a reseller?

Sometimes. Some partners discount annual plans, while others charge list price and make up the difference with services. Ask for a written quote that shows seats, term and support.

Can I switch from Google directly to a reseller?

Yes. A super admin creates a transfer token in the Admin Console for the new partner, and your users, files and settings stay as they are. Plan it close to your renewal date to avoid paying twice.

Does a reseller have access to my data?

It depends on how the account was set up. A partner always sees billing and license data in its console. Some also hold admin access, often when they created the account for you, so review your list of super admins and remove any access you did not mean to give.

What is the difference between a reseller and a Google partner?

A reseller sells and bills licenses. A partner can also do consulting, deployment or custom development. Many companies do both.
